Wet Line Productions Charity Bass Series 2019 Tournament Rules
- 2019 Participants & Eligibility
Events are open to all individuals, male or female. Anyone under 18 years of age, who is not fishing with a parent must have written permission from a parent or legal guardian. Any angler fishing in 6 or more of the regular season scheduled events will qualify for the TOY (Team of the Year) points award. Wet Line Productions Charity Bass Series reserves the right to reject any entries that we feel are not in the best interest of the event/tournament. You may fish alone or with a partner. No Partner changes after the start of the event/tournament.
All participants must sign a release of liability form in order to be eligible to compete in any/all events/tournaments.
- Entry Fees
Entry fees are $110.00 per event and includes Big Fish. Entry fee does not include ramp fees where applicable. Entries will be accepted the morning of the event as CASH ONLY! Checks will only be accepted prior to the Wednesday preceding the event/tournament, payable to Wet Line Productions Charity Bass Series. Mailed to: WLPCBS 5107 Wilkes Ridge Place Richmond VA 23233.
- Launch Sequence
Starting order will be in the order of entries received.
All Prize money will be awarded following the weigh in for each event/tournament. One place will be paid out per 5 teams entered. Winners are responsible for any and all taxes on any monies or prizes won.
Safe boating conduct must be observed at all times during an event/tournament. Each competitor will be required to wear a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device, securely fastened including a kill switch at all times the boat is being propelled by the combustion engine. Failure to do so is grounds for disqualification of the offending teams catch. Running lights must be operational and turned on at the blast-off when warranted by lack of daylight or foul weather of each event/tournament. Competitors boats must be equipped with a livewell system capable of keeping a tournament limit of fish alive. Any boat equipped with a motor that exceeds the horsepower rating of the boat according to the manufacturer is prohibited from being used in any Wet Line Productions Charity Bass Series event/tournament. All boats are to be properly registered and carry proof of liability insurance. NO ALCOHOLIC beverages, stimulants or depressants permitted during any Wet Line Productions Charity Bass Series event /tournament. Any participant who consumes or Is UNDER THE INFLUENCE of the aforementioned will NOT be permitted to participate and/or have their catch disqualified. (prescribed medications taken per a doctor’s instructions are excluded)
Each contestant is expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and conservation while participating in any WLPCBS event/tournament. No Fishing within 50 yards of an anchored boat (trolling motor up and Power Poles down or anchor in the water) or within 25 yards of a boat not anchored. Waters open to ALL PUBLIC fishing will be considered waters. On the James River however the following areas are OFF Limits for any competitor. The Curles Neck Ponds and Pits in the back of Chippokes. Lake Anna no off limits unless otherwise posted by Dominion Power. No trolling, artificial baits only. All Bass must be caught alive in a legal & sporting manner on a Rod & Reel. No Snagging. Each angler may only use 1 rod at a time. Only 1 line in the water at a time per angler. 5 Bass Limit per boat. ALL Bass minimum of 12” Long. All participants are expected to abide by ALL State & Federal laws and VDGIF regulations. Any participant or team who intentionally violates any law or regulation in an attempt to gain an unfair advantage will have their catch disqualified. In the case of multiple governing authorities, the strictest law is applicable.
ABSOLUTLEY NO CULLING OF DEAD FISH!!
- Scoring Procedure
A limit of 5 bass (largemouth, smallmouth, spotted bass) may be weighed in. 12” minimum length. Lengths will be measured with mouth closed. A short fish brought to the scales will not be weighed, and will result in a 1-pound penalty. Dead fish will be penalized .50 (1/2) pound. The dead fish penalty will also apply to any fish weighed as a Big Fish if that fish is dead. Culling is to begin at the time the 6th fish is caught. No team is to continue fishing with more than the tournament limit in the livewell.
Participants shall remain with their partners in the boat at all times except in the event of sickness or brief excursions for “nature calling” severe weather or other such hazards. Participants are permit to leave the boat for marine services. If for any reason either or both team members decide to leave the event/tournament waters early, it is your responsibility to notify an event/tournament official. In the event of a breakdown, one team member may return with fish by another event/tournament boat while the other team member remains with the disabled boat.
- Late Penalty
Competitors who are not checked in by the check in deadline will be penalized at a rate of 1 pound per minute up to 15 minutes at which time their catch will be disqualified. Late penalties will be deducted from Big Fish as well as total weight.
Any protest must be submitted in writing to the event/tournament director within 15 minutes of the close of the weigh in.
- Rules Violations & Disqualifications & Interpretation
The violation of an event/tournament rule by either team member may result in weight loss, up to a particular point of the event/tournament, loss of weight for the entire event/tournament, disqualification for the entire event/tournament or in extreme circumstances ineligibility to participate in future Wet Line Productions Charity Bass Series events. If the tournament director feels that their violation was a willful attempt to gain an unfair advantage or intentionally cheat, the director then has the right to refuse entry from that team in any future events/tournaments. Interpretation of these rules will be left to the Event /Tournament director. Infractions of any rule may result in disqualification of a catch. The tournament director may at any time request and or require any angler to take a polygraph test for any event un-announced at his or her discretion. Each participant agrees to report to the Event/Tournament Director immediately any violation or infraction of any tournament rules. Failure to report violations, or suggestions to another participant that they violate these rules may be cause for disqualification. OFFICIAL PROTESTS MUST BE FILED IN WRITING.
